Abstract
Conduct contrary to established authority, in response to perceived injustice. Examples are found in drama, history, and today's news reports. They range from Antigone's defiance of the king's decree that her slain brother be left unburied to Rosa Park's noncompliance with racial segregation in Montgomery, Alabama, and the organized bus boycott that followed.
