Abstract
Opinion. Comments on the contrasting rulings by a United States Court of Appeal and the Court of Appeal in London, England about the need for hospital emergency rooms to provide respiratory support for anencephalic infants. Granting of parents' request for respiratory support for their babies even if medical opinion is almost unanimous that such treatment cannot benefit the child and should not be given.
