Abstract
During the debate of the law for the Equal Rights of Women the model of womanhood which required sacrifice and self-denial set the tone for the debate, and meant that many women were left out of the discussion: single mothers, lesbians, working mothers, women from other cultures, and many other types of women. The feminist minority, realizing that formal equality that ignores the social context prevents real change, did not support the bill.
