Abstract
Simon Agranat served on the Supreme Court of Israel between 1949 and 1976: almost a quarter of a century. Between 1965 and 1976 he was Chief Justice. He played a major role in shaping both the form and the substance of Israeli law in its formative period, in the first generation of Israeli independence.
