About This Journal

The American Journal of Law & Medicine (AJLM) is the nation’s leading health law journal, published by students at Boston University School of Law in conjunction with the American Society of Law, Medicine & Ethics since 1975. All issues of AJLM can be accessed via Cambridge University Press.

AJLM publishes three times per year: once in the spring, once in the summer (accompanying the annual symposium), and once in the winter. The journal accepts submissions on a rolling basis but prioritizes articles submitted February-April and August-October.

AJLM employs a broad scope to cover topics related to health law and policy, including the legal, policy, and ethical aspects of public health and health care. The journal publishes articles written by leading experts in the field, as well as notes and comments authored by AJLM staff members. AJLM seeks original and timely legal scholarship. Common subject matter explored by AJLM articles include:
